infrastructure design, leipzig

the city of leipzig was looking for a unifying aesthetic concept for the technical infrastructure necessary to supply the new bmw-factory.
the concept limits itself to a simple colour scheme for buildings and equipment, strips of large format concrete slabs as ground surface and a fine stainless steel mesh for the enveloping fence.
the plant and equipment of more than half a dozen different utilities was thus given a common appearance which allows them to act as a series of landmarks around the bmw complex.
