Cycle bridge, Gelsenkirchen

The bridge over the Rhein-Herne-Kanal consists of a hollow box section from weather-proof steel which is shaped to provide support structure, balustrade and structural height.Stretching out as a poignant structure it forms an abstract organic background to the landscape of the zoo(m) animal park and provides a material reference to the heavy industry of the Ruhrgebiet.
