zwergenland crêche, leipzig

the requirements for an acoustic barrier towards the adjoining road lead to the development of an integrated wall element that encloses the whole play area.
towards the road it offers glazed windows and recesses and towards the adjoining site climbing frames, hiding places and slides can be integrated into the timber clad wall. it also forms the facade of the building, punctuated with different size windows that allow children to climb from the inside to the outside.
from the garden the building is accessed through a lobby shared between two group rooms. towards the canal at the back of the building a corridor links all rooms of the building as an internal service axis.
