the small corten-clad extension of the kub gallery in leipzig in the old "kunst- und bauschlosserei" (art and construction metal works) only forms one exhibition space. it is to be constructed on the foundations of the ruin of a apartment-building destroyed in ww2. generous steps lead from the entrance level down to the old cellar floor. the north-lit room can thus be flexibly used for exhibtions, performances, readings, projections etc. the deep window-sills of the tall windows towards kantstraße can be used as informal and public seating with views into the gallery space. the pace opens to the street as well as to the court yard and can thus be used as an entrance foyer into the gallery complex.the gallery is situated around the corner from the tagebau offices in kochstraße.
